It is with great pleasure that On Air with Virgin Mobile premiered the title track off Eli Mardock‘s debut full length album Everything Happens for the First Time, set to drop on Paper Garden Records July 9th. Eli, of course, is well known and loved for his helming Eagle Seagull, a band adored by everyone from Florence and the Machine to The B-52s. Last year he took everything into his own hands with critically claimed solo eps Hamburg and NE Sorrow is Born. As a follow up Eli enlisted former Seagull members drummer Andrew Tyler and keyboardist/violinist (as well as Eli’s now wife!) Carrie Butler for help with the full length endeavor. Taking its title from the Jorge Luis Borges poem “Joy“, “Everything Happens for the First Time” is an exuberant song of liberation (that also leaves us pining for an announcement of live dates). We're all freaking obsessed with texting, so it's about time somebody invented the mother of all texting apps, Voxer - seriously next-level texting.
