Little Dragon LIVE at Le Baron

In case you missed our gratuitous gushing over the Encore! Sessions at Le Baron yesterday, it continues. In truth as we pressed “published” we were saying a silent prayer that we’d be able to squeeze into the last taping of this series by the /FORWAR:D team – an intimate Little Dragon gig – last night. Let’s just say the police pulled up to the door just as our cab did, and miracle of miracles they left soon thereafter and we made it in! I can’t remember the last time I saw a line that big for a venue that small. You know it’s next level exclusivity when they say there isn’t a guestlist, and it’s even better when you’re trying to gain entry into a club modeled after a Parisian bordello, sandwiched between two Chinese funeral homes. Welcome to André Saraiva‘s NYC.

What we got was a full set, which usually never happens at branded events, so thanks again to Absolut. Yukimi and the boys played songs off their latest album Ritual Union and dropped a new track into the mix – hopefully that will be included in the final Encore! footage. Then they did a cover (which is pretty rare for them) of Eurythmics‘ “Here Comes the Rain Again” and the crowd hit fever pitch chanting along to the “Talk to me… like lovers do” chorus. This Little Dragon performance should air on May 29th – but be sure to check out the Youtube page for exclusive footage of all performances (including Friends!).
