VML Playlist 10-31-11. boo.

Wow. Not only is it one of my fave days of the year, we had possibly the hardest rocking episode in VML history. First off we aired our interview with the legendary Duff McKagan – who’s autobiography It’s So Easy (and Other Lies) is the best rock ‘n’ roll read we’ve had in ages – and he was one of the most candid, intelligent, gentleman-ly guests ever to have graced our studio. Plus he loves Prince and The Clash and we love Prince and The Clash so a good time was had by all. Seriously what an inspiration on so many levels! Just a warning to all my loved ones, this is what you’re getting for holiday gifts. ‘Nuff said (‘Duff said?).

Then Rob Vannice of JuiceheaD and producer John Cafiero of Misfits Records (and Osaka Popstar) swung by to enlighten us on JH’s new release How to Sail a Sinking Ship. If you haven’t seen the cover art, we highly recommend making this purchase in physical form! It’s not too often the we get both the artist and producer in studio simultaneously, so it made for a pretty fascinating chat (aka me trying not to geek out over having the Cafieros in studio take two). Mike and I were entertained, and hope you guys were too. Anyway we are super grateful that they came by especially considering that they were just minutes from loading in for their show tonight in Times Square with Misfits. That being said, here’s what we played:

Gerard Mcmann / Cry Little Sister (Theme from The Lost Boys)

Guns N’ Roses / Sweet Child of Mine

Thurston Moore / Wonderful Witches
Screamin’ Jay Hawkins / I Put a Spell On You
