After 7 days of wall to wall show goodness (Frank Ocean! David Byrne & St. Vincent! Peter Gabriel!) there was only one name that could get me off the proverbial couch, over the East River and a trek down the deserted hollows of Kent Avenue. Coming off his sold out show at Radio City Music Hall, Gotye (née Wouter De Backer) lavished the crowd with songs that EVERYONE knows off of his latest album Making Mirrors, as well as numerous others from his pretty extensive career. Opening his 19 song set with an epic rendition of “Eyes Wide Open,” he had the crowd chanting along from the start.
